Information & Analysis Division The Information & Analysis Division of the JSTO-CBD (CBI) provides information and analysis capabilities and support that enable operational and programmatic decision-making. These capabilities focus on advanced development programs and research that enable users to discover, access, and make use of data; methods for producing actionable information from such data; and tools that implement these methods. Current information-analysis capability areas include hazard prediction, warning and reporting, operations and planning, medical and surveillance, and system performance. Goals for these capability areas include: - Warning & Reporting: Provide data, methods, and tools that enable timely and accurate warnings and recommended actions by connecting detection capabilities to information-analysis capabilities that reside on and use the overall command and control architecture. Conduct and support related data generation, operations research, and analyses.
- Hazard Prediction: Provide data, methods, and tools that enable predicting hazard area size and severity in near real-time for single and multiple incidents, up to the incidents for an entire theater campaign. Conduct and support related data generation, operations research, and analyses.
- Medical & Surveillance: Provide data, methods, and tools that enable casualty estimation, disease propagation and prediction, medical resource planning, medical counter-measure planning and assessment and early warning of biological threats by combining environmental detections with biological signs, symptoms, and indicators. Conduct and support related data generation, operations research, and analyses.
- Operations & Planning: Provide data, methods, and tools that enable real-time and preplanned development of operational plans by enhancing warning and reporting capabilities with novel decision support tools. Conduct and support related data generation, operations research, and analyses.
- System Performance: Provide data, methods, and tools that enable the development of requirements, trade-offs within analysis of alternatives, simulation based acquisition, virtual prototyping, and system evaluations. Conduct and support related data generation, operations research, and analyses.
